To insure individualized attention, classes are limited in size. Placement of the student will be determined by our instructors according to age and ability. For proper progress, students must feel comfortable in a class that meets their needs; neither beyond their comprehension nor below their ability. This is best determined by experienced dance educators who can evaluate placement that best meets the physical, mental and emotional levels of the student. While we do our best to meet scheduling needs, convenience must come second to correct placement of the student. Mommy & Me - Introduce your child to the magical world of movement and music. Available for students ages 18 months to 3 and a caregiver, each class promotes development in social, motor and cognitive skills. As you join your child each week, you will notice the improvement in their self esteem and confidence as they explore new and exciting activities with the security of you right beside them.
Tiny Tots (Ages 3 and 4) - 30
minute class
Mini Jazz Ages 6 and 7 - Comprised of the fundamentals of jazz and the technique of ballet, Mini Jazz was designed to expose young students to jazz while utilizing the basic concepts of ballet to develop control and precision. Students must be six by December 31 of the current year. Ballet - is a disciplined dance form and truly the "backbone" of dance training. Ballet develops strength, poise, coordination, flexibility, and expression. It also enables students to understand the self-discipline needed to grow in all aspects of life. We recommend ballet training for all students studying other forms of dance. This will enhance their progress and allow them to receive the most benefits from each style. This class is offered to ages 5 through adult. Pointe - is available for advanced ballet students who have completed a minimum of one year of ballet enrichment class along with their weekly ballet class and have passed a pointe evaluation. Once a student qualifies, year round study is required. A complete prerequisite for pointe is available at the studio. Jazz - is a combination of several dance forms. It combines the use of torso and isolation movements and is usually expressed through popular music. Although considered more free than ballet, jazz is also a structured dance form. This class is offered to ages 7 (by December 31) through adult, however, prior ballet training is recommended. Tap - consists of movement and sound made by metal plates attached to the bottom of tap shoes. Students begin with basic rhythms and progress to more difficult, fast-paced combinations. A happy, "fun dance", yet a highly stylized dance of quality that is recognized and performed all over the world. Tap is offered to ages 5 through adult. Boy's Jam - is an exclusive class for boys ages 5 and up. The class focuses on physical agility and coordination. Through a curriculum specifically designed for boys, tactile exercises and energetic activities are used to increase motor skills and improve rhythm and spatial awareness. Boy's Athletic Boot Camp is also available each summer to focus on coordination fundamentals through the use of obstacle courses, relays and dynamic choreography.
