Below you will find a breakdown of classes and the required apparel for each. Hair must be secured properly and appropriate dance attire must be worn at every lesson. This criteria is necessary as a view of body line is imperative for proper correction. For your convenience, leotards, tights, dance bags and shoes in sizes toddler through adult may be purchased in our boutique.

PLEASE NOTE: A leotard is the garment that covers the torso, while tights are the leg coverings worn with a leotard.

MOMMY & ME

1) any loose fitting clothing that is easy to move in or a one-piece leotard and tights

2) clean sole shoes or ballet shoes (no sandals or flip flops)

TINY TOTS AND MOVEMENT

1) any color of one-piece leotard without an attached tutu or full skirt

2) any color of full-footed or footless tights (no biker shorts)

3) pink ballet shoes

4) hair must be pulled up off the neck - ponytail, bun, French braid or pigtails. If hair is too short to be completely put up, please pull it back enough so that it is not in the eyes or face.

BALLET

1) any color of one-piece leotard without an attached tutu or full skirt

2) full-footed or footless light pink or white tights (no biker shorts or capri tights)

3) pink ballet shoes

4) hair must be secured to the head (bun, French braid with end tucked, or ponytail clipped to the head) - no long French braids, pony or pigtails. If hair is too short to be completely put up, please pull it back enough so that it is not in the eyes or face.

5) students may be asked to remove shirts during class to allow teachers to observe body alignment

JAZZ AND TAP

1) any color of one-piece leotard without an attached tutu or full skirt

2) any color of full-footed or footless tights (no biker shorts or capri tights)

3) black ballet or jazz oxfords (jazz oxfords are recommended for students above a beginner level)

4) black tap shoes for tap (the shoestrings in tap shoes must be replaced with elastics or tap ties)

5) hair must be secured to the head (bun, French braid with end tucked, or ponytail clipped to the head) - no long French braids, pony or pigtails. If hair is too short to be completely put up, please pull it back enough so that it is not in the eyes or face.

BOYS AND BOY'S JAM

* These guidelines apply to all male students participating in any class.

1) black ballet or jazz oxfords (jazz oxfords are recommended for students above a beginner level) or tap shoes

2) a tight-fitting T-shirt which is to be tucked in

3) biker shorts or shorts

4) no long pants, jeans, baggy shirts or loose-fitting shorts

5) a dance belt for gentlemen ages 12 and above

MODERN

1) any color of one-piece leotard without an attached tutu or full skirt

2) any color of convertible or footless tights (No biker shorts or capri tights. Tights are made to be worn without underwear.)

3) nude dance soles

4) hair MUST be secured to the head (bun, French braid with end tucked, or ponytail clipped to the head), NO long French braids, pony or pigtails. If hair is too short to be completely put up, please pull it back enough so that it is not in the eyes or face.

HIP HOP

1) dance pants and shirts (no exposed midriffs) or one-piece leotard and tights

2) black jazz sneakers (if students are also enrolled in jazz they may use their jazz shoes during the fall semester)
