Class Act Dance Troupe, Inc (CADT) was formed in 1986 to provide students with additional opportunities to utilize their training by performing for various events, organizations and participating in competitions. CADT is a separate, not-for-profit corporation consisting of a senior, junior and petite troupe, with members ranging in age from eight to eighteen. The troupes have performed for Six Flags Great America, Disney World and a variety of local organizations and area schools. They have received multiple awards at regional and national competitions, such as Dance Makers, Chicago National Association of Dance Masters and Dance Relief and Footloose, Inc..

Members are selected by audition and are selected on the basis of stage presence, ability to learn combinations quickly, execution of steps and attitude. The troupe continues year-round ballet training and attends either the fall or summer CNADM convention. The members also rehearse five hours per week in addition to their weekly classes and hold an annual performance each spring at the Lakeview Middle School Auditorium. The troupe provides a creative outlet and unique opportunities to our students that cannot be found anywhere else in the area.

CADT is available for performances throughout the area. If you would like more information or to schedule a performance, please contact Tammy Seibold at the studio (574) 267-7055.

Competitions

CADT competed at the Headliners Competition in Indianapolis in March.  The troupes received numerous awards including the first and second top scores for trios for the pieces "Curly Shuffle" choreographed by Diane Gudat and "Ladies' Choice" choreographed by Tammy Seibold.  High score honors were also received by "Do It Like Me" choreographed by Courtney Clary, "Transylvania Mania" choreographed by Kristina Crane and "Afrika", a production piece performed by the junior and senior troupe and choreographed by Diane Gudat.

Members of the senior troupe also received two special judges awards for their tap pieces.  Recipients of judges awards are selected individually by the judges for pieces or performers they feel deserve additional recognition.

CADT's next competition is in Ft. Wayne in May.
