We are excited to announce the return of Guest Teacher Jeremy Plummer to the studio! Jeremy is a director, dance choreographer and aerial creator and choreographer with shows running all around the world that feature his unique blend of aerial artistry and hybrid of dance and aerial performance. His company, C5, has had their work featured at Dance for Life for the past 6 years.  Jeremy was a company member with River North Chicago Dance Company where he danced for several years in addition to choreographing for the company. He is a favorite teacher of the Chicago National Association of Dance Masters. In 2013 he was the recipient of their highest honor, the Artistic Achievement Award, especially notable given his young age.  The best part is, even with all of his awards and experience he is a friendly, approachable teacher with a great, positive outlook who is passionate about sharing his love of dance!  He is a favorite of our students that have worked with him.

Joining us in July is renowned choreographer Michael Foley.  Michael is currently a Professor of Dance at the University of South Florida, where he received USF’s Outstanding Undergraduate Teaching Award in 2010, and USF’s Global Achievement Award for Student Success in 2016.  He is also the director/creator of the University of South Florida Dance Program’s semester and summer study abroad programs in Paris, which has brought over 250 students to Paris since 2007.  Michael has taught workshops and master classes at universities, academic institutions and private studios throughout the United States, France, Italy, The Netherlands, Germany, Sweden, Ireland, Northern Ireland, Mexico, Panama, the Dominican Republic and Cuba.  Michael was also the Artistic Director of the Dance in Education Fund, Inc. in New York for several years, as well as a faculty member for 10 years at DanceSpace Center/Dance New Amsterdam in New York City, and as an instructor at Steps, Peridance and The Alvin Ailey American Dance Center.

It is an honor to have guest instructors of this caliber teach at our studio.  Any time students can learn from a guest teacher, they receive the benefit of additional teaching and choreographic styles.  Add that together with their vast experience, the fact they are coming to you, no travel or hotel expenses and it makes this opportunity amazing!

One-Day Workshops give your child the opportunity to focus on one area of dance.  There are no formation changes or other factors of working on a performance piece to distract him/her.  The workshops are designed to improve competency in one area.  And…specialty workshops are short commitments!
