In this series of workshops, dancers will focus on the development of jazz and choreography skills in a fun and supportive environment. Through a variety of exercises, we will explore how to use the body as an instrument of expression and how to tell a story through movement. Participants will perform during our Summer Showcase in August.

We are honored to welcome guest teacher, Joshua Manculich, again this summer.  Josh holds a B.A. in Dance from Point Park University and M.F.A. in Dance from Ohio State University.  In 2021, he founded WhirlWind Dance, a professional contemporary company based in Columbus, Ohio.  A recipient of the 2015 Princess Grace Choreography Fellowship, his conceptual choreography has been present nationally and internationally, and he has performed with Thodos Dance Chicago and Chicago Repertory Ballet.

Josh’s inspiring and exhilarating artistry, paired with his approachable nature, has made him a beloved guest teacher for many years.  He creates a supportive classroom environment where students leave with renewed confidence and joy of movement.  In addition to his work in dance, Josh is a psychotherapist and PhD candidate in Counseling at Ohio University, passionately exploring the connection between art and mental health.
